The CORMORAN system is a small-format inverter capable of drawing three-phase alternating current at 380/220 volts for use in the supply of secondary and auxiliary systems from the medium voltage direct current (3 kV) of the catenary power supply of the peninsular conventional railroads.
With the possibility of being installed at the head of a pole, the CORMORAN system offers the possibility of having power supply for all types of uses in locations where the grid connection is too distant, too costly or where other considerations make its deployment inadvisable. CORMORAN provides power supply for switchboard heaters (such as TELICE’s own tElphe®), electrified railroad works, avoiding polluting diesel generators, lighting and air conditioning in remote buildings, and even charging systems for light last-mile delivery logistics vehicles.
CORMORÁN was developed with funds from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness in its call Acción Estratégica de Economía y Sociedad Digital-Impulso Tecnológico, with file number TSI-100505-2016-8.
