TELICE S.A. will work on the electrification of the Zaragoza-Teruel-Sagunt line for ADIF.
TELICE S.A , in a joint venture with Eiffage Energía Sistemas, will execute for ADIF the electrification of the 311-kilometer Zaragoza-Teruel-Sagunt line. This action is part of the Integral Modernization Master Plan, with investments of more than 34 million euros.
These works are for the construction of the Cariñena and Villafranca traction substations, the 220 kV high voltage overhead line and its autotransformer stations.
The works include civil works, the execution of structures, the assembly of equipment, piping, access and security systems, as well as testing and commissioning.
Scope of TELICE S.A. works
The purpose of the works under contract with Eiffage Energía Sistemas is the construction of the necessary installations for the 25 kV electrification of the Zaragoza-Teruel section. Specifically, the Cariñena 211.SE and Villafranca 212.SE traction substations; the 220 kV overhead high voltage line from the REE Calamocha substation to the Villafranca 212.SE traction substation; and the autotransformer stations of the section.
Environmental benefits
Electrification brings environmental advantages over diesel traction, as well as increasing line reliability. This action will improve traffic flow and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 59%.
The location of this line is strategic to connect by rail the Mediterranean with the Cantabrian and the Atlantic and to link the port areas of Valencia and Bilbao and the logistics nodes of Platea (Teruel), Zaragoza-Plaza and Júndiz (Vitoria).
Other projects for ADIF
It is worth mentioning other projects in which TELICE S.A. has worked, also in a joint venture with Eiffage Energía Sistemas, for Adif.
The latest, the renovation of the lighting in the tunnels of the Madrid-Seville AVE, which total 16 kilometers in length, with the aim of providing these tunnels with a new LED lighting system.
Also, in 2019, ADIF awarded us, in a joint venture with Eiffage Energía Sistemas, the works and maintenance of the autotransformer and energy remote control centers of the Pedralba-Orense section of the Madrid-Galicia AVE line.
Work consisted of the construction of several auto-transformer centers for the catenary power supply system. A project that was successfully completed and that led us to benefit from another subsequent contract with ADIF, also in a joint venture with Eiffage Energía Sistemas, for the modernization project of the railway track between Ourense and Lugo to connect Lugo with the high speed.
In this case, we are responsible for the construction of an electrical substation in Oural, two final transformation centers and eight intermediate auto-transformer stations at different points along the route between Ourense and Lugo.
