Traction substations and associated auto-transformer substations for the Valladolid – León and Venta de baños – Burgos sections of the northern high speed line.
According to the previous studies on the sizing of electrification facilities, the power supply system to the catenary planned for the North-Northwest high-speed corridor is the 2×25 kV, 50 hz system.
This project consisted of the construction of traction electrical substations and their associated transformer stations for the Valladolid – Venta de Baños – León and Venta de Baños – Burgos sections of the Northern High Speed Line, and their subsequent maintenance for two years.

Scope:
The Valladolid – Venta de Baños Junction – León section occupies three electrical areas;
- The Dueñas area, which includes a substation, a final auto-transformer station and 4 intermediate stations. The present project only contemplates the substation and 3 intermediate auto-transformer stations.
- The Becerril de Campos area, which includes the substation itself, a final auto-transformer station and 3 intermediate stations.
- The Luengos area, which includes the substation, a final autotransformer station and two intermediate stations.
The Venta de Baños – Burgos section includes the Buniel substation, a final transformer station and 3 intermediate stations.
The project also included the implementation of the remote energy control installations for both sections and their integration in the Madrid Atocha Control Center for the remote control and supervision of events occurring in the substations and their auto-transformation centers, as well as the catenary system (disconnectors and voltage detectors), the Medium and Low Voltage Power Distribution system and the Events and Alarms system.
Additionally, high voltage overhead lines (400 kV) of double circuit were built between the towns of Cerrato and Dueñas to feed the Dueñas substation and between Grijota and Becerril de Campos to feed the Becerril substation.
