Telice and UTE Syneox Rail awarded contract for maintenance of the Madrid – Asturias High Speed Line for 4.5 million euros

Telice (Teléfonos Líneas y Centrales S.A) together with UTE Syneox Rail, S.L have been awarded the maintenance contract for the 25 Kv AC traction power installations of the Madrid – Asturias High Speed Line. The contracting entity, ADIF, has awarded this contract for a value of 4,545,444.30 €.

The contract, which has an initial term of 24 months with the possibility of extension for another 24 months, covers a series of activities for preventive, corrective and improvement maintenance of the traction energy facilities. Among the activities contemplated are the maintenance of the overhead contact line, substations, autotransformer stations, 20 kV line, transformer stations and remote control of energy in the Pajares – Pola de Lena section.

Preventive maintenance, as established in the Railway Infrastructure Preventive Maintenance Procedure, will include monitoring activities, data evaluation, diagnosis and programming of short, medium and long term interventions. This type of maintenance will be carried out on the energy subsystem, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the life cycle of the assets. Preventive maintenance activities include scheduled maintenance, based on equipment reliability, condition-based and predictive maintenance, as well as the treatment of specific defects detected during maintenance interventions.

On the other hand, corrective maintenance will address unforeseen incidents that may arise, such as attending to incidents, implementing ADIF contingency plans, and providing relief for trains with traction problems or loss of voltage. In addition, improvement actions are contemplated to increase performance, improve the safety of the facilities and extend the useful life of the railway assets.

As for the geographical scope, this action includes the section located between the system change zone at Pk 368+751 located at the junction with the León-La Robla section and Pk 411+465, which corresponds to the system change zone in the Campomanes PAET. Throughout the entire section, the platform is for double track, with mixed track gauge in general on track 1 (right) and conventional on track 2 (left).

The awarding of this contract represents an important step towards guaranteeing the optimal and safe operation of the Madrid – Asturias High Speed Line, thus contributing to the development of rail transport in the region and the well-being of the users of this important communication corridor.
